There are four new exhibitions opening at Manchester Art Gallery on Saturday the 30th of September. Bolton born Hetain Patel uses humour and the languages of popular culture and explores fantasy through a domestic lens. Mehreen Murtaza creates scenarios in which confused narratives blur the line between fact and fiction and remind us of the precarious and subjective nature of shared histories. Produced while he is in a trance-like state, Waqas Khan’s drawings are the result of a painstaking, meticulous and precise process. In her new work, Neha Choksi tests her belief that to learn to be oneself, one always needs others. More information is available at Manchester Art Gallery.
