Head Chef of the Aumbry restaurant in Prestwich, Mary-Ellen McTague, will be returning to BBC Two’s Great British Menu for the second year running later this month.
This year, to mark the 70th anniversary of D-Day, Mary-Ellen and her fellow chefs were challenged with producing 21st century dishes worthy of our war heroes. Dishes needed to evoke the wartime spirit of the generation, which fought for our freedom, as well as honour the bravery shown throughout the Second World War.
You can catch Mary-Ellen in the North West heat, which is to be aired Monday through Friday at 7:30 pm the week commencing Monday the 14th of April.
A special 5-course menu featuring dishes from the series will be available throughout May and June at the Aumbry for £45. Click here to book.
