A new exhibition at Central Library entitled Manchester Made Me charts the formative years of renowned novelist, poet, playwright and critic, Anthony Burgess. Although most famous for his view of a dystopian London in the novel A Clockwork Orange, his home city of Manchester featured in both his fiction and autobiographical works, and his writings give rare first-hand accounts of working-class life in early 20th Century industrial North.
The exhibition runs from Thursday the 11th of June to Monday the 20th of July in the Music Library and Reading Room of Central Library.
