Angel Meadow was the name of a 19th century slum in Ancoats that was described by Friedrich Engels as “Hell on earth … everything here arouses horror and indignation”.
It is now the location for one of ANU Productions’ site-specific performances. The Dublin-based company has won multiple awards and this dramatic piece of street theatre is designed to tell the gritty tales of the Irish migrants escaping poverty for a better life in industrial Manchester.
The production only runs until the 29th of June and tickets are selling fast, with those remaining available from Home. The performance lasts 55 minutes and due to its immersive nature, each show has a limited capacity of 8 people.
